Together Beyond WordsEmpowering Women and Promoting Peace

Alliance of Healers

Together Beyond Words is preparing to launch a new program training an ''Alliance of Healers'' who will work in different parts of the country to create ''safe havens'' where Arabs and Jews can gather to share and release/unburden the pain, anger and fear underlying the conflict and transform these feelings into understanding and empathy towards one another.

Pain that is not transformed is transmitted – Richard Rohr

The training will take place in Israel and also include a retreat abroad. Our trainers/healers will learn to lead a ten meeting process that includes interventions from three approaches we have been using for several years: Together Beyond Words, Core Energetics, Internal Family Systems.

The project has three stages:

Stage I: Training the trainers (80 hours) – 16 new trainers, Arab and Jewish, women and men.  The training will take place both in Israel and abroad. The trainers who have experience as facilitators will study the different interventions we have been using over the past 20 years to transform emotional pain into understanding and empathy towards ourselves and others.  Specifically we will teach them a set of 10 meetings using these interventions that they can then use to work with groups in different parts of the country. Target group for this stage includes 16 primary beneficiaries and approximately 160 secondary beneficiaries.

Stage II: Supervising the trainers during their first group – Trainers will divide into Arab and Jewish pairs. Each pair will open their first group of ten meetings (four hours per meeting). The trainers will receive supervision from our staff for the entire process. Target group includes 100 Arab and Jewish primary beneficiaries and approximately 2000 secondary beneficiaries.

Stage IIIRunning the groups– Each pair will continue facilitating independently working with at least two groups per year. Trainers will continue meeting for a monthly supervision. Target group for the first year of independent facilitation includes 200 Arab and Jewish primary beneficiaries and approximately 2000 secondary beneficiaries. This stage is self sufficient and will produce additional income for the organization.

Stage III that includes 16 groups (approximately 200 participants) going through a process of ten meetings and an intensive retreat in Israel or abroad is self sufficient. The tuition of the participants will pay for the whole process and produce additional income for the organization.
